(1930-2017) Colin Dexter is one of Britain's most celebrated crime novelist whose "Inspector Morse" series earned fans worldwide. Offered is an extremely rare find. This is an early paperback of 256 pages, RARE uncorrected proof copy with the original title Ten Miles to Woodstock issued by Macmillan in early 1975 that was not available for sale. There are stickers with the released title Last Bus To Woodstock that were placed atop the "Ten Miles" title on cover and on title page. However, Ten Miles to Woodstock is clearly visible on the spine where the corrected label was carefully removed. This paperback is in very good condition with only minor evidence of wear and handling. We understand that this is a very rare proof and certainly significant as this work introduced the beloved character, Inspector Morse. A prize for the discriminating collector and completist.
