Dust Jacket Condition: good to very good. First printing. Edited By Arna Bontemps. Autobiography boasts an outstanding illustrated dust jacked, hard to find on first editions. While there are condition issues at top and bottom of dust jacket (edge wear, paper chips), the exceptionally appealing art is vibrant and intact save for a small tear between the D and Y of Handy. W.C. Handy has signed his name and dated (7-16-1941) on front end paper. Handy was one of the most influential songwriters of the US bringing the distinctive sounds of Blues from regional areas to a larger audience across the United States.
