Condition: Overall good to very good condition. Dust Jacket has paper scrapes to spine and backcover with light water stains. Original orange-red hardcover binding with minimal wear and soiling. The silver gilt printing on spine is very bright and without issues. Pages exhibit toning, first several pages a single light crease, postage stamp sized UK bookstore label "Ells of Newcastle" in lower right corner of pasted endpaper, vertical dark toning on front and rear loose endpaper, possibly from a bookmark. Otherwise a most acceptable First Edition of this hard-to-find Chandler, the final Philip Marlowe installment. Estimated Value $350 - UP
