Lot 583

1806 Br-2, Rarity 2. PCGS graded MS-64. Well struck for an early Draped Bust quarter and an issue which is rarely found in grades even approaching the gem level. The obverse and reverse have a pleasing light sliver-gray hue and are nicely toned. The surfaces are quite stunning, with nary a nick or mark to be found, and the strike is fairly sharp. This is the later die state for this die pairing, with considerable rim crumbling along the tops of the legends, and a bisecting die crack through the final A of AMERICA to the O in OF. A tough type coin to find this well preserved! Don't miss out. Pop 10; 5 finer, 2 in 64+, 3 in 65. (PCGS # 5314) Estimated Value $20,000 - UP
