1796 S-98 R4 Draped Bust PCGS VF Detail Altered Surface. Very attractive glossy olive brown and chocolate. The surfaces are smooth (not "altered" in our opinion) and the only marks are a tick under the bust tip and a pinprick near the leaf under TA in STATES. Neither mark is significant and this cent has excellent eye appeal. Nicely struck E-MDS, Breen state II early. The crack up from the right top of the Y in LIBERTY is very light and there are no die clashmarks on either side. The date and legends are all strong. A very nice mid-grade 1796 Draped Bust Cent. Our grade is F12. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS #35828. Estimated Value $1,250 - UP
From the Bob Willoughby Collection.
