1794 S-48 R5 Starred Reverse PCGS AG Detail Smoothed. Dark steel and olive brown. The surfaces are covered with microscopic roughness mixed with patches of stronger corrosion. No verdigris or noted contact marks. The date is weak but all 4 digits are present and it is easily readable, and at least a quarter of the tiny stars on the reverse are still visible. The legends are all weak but most of the letters are still readable with some effort. An example that is not shown in Noyes photo project or in the Pete Smith reference. Our grade is net Fair-2+. Estimated Value $4,000 - UP
