Lot 373

1851 C-1 R1 Second 1 Repunched PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Light chocolate brown. No spots or stains but the luster is dull thanks to a layer of natural oxidation. Looks like a half cent that has been sitting untouched for over 150 years following a very short time in circulation. The only marks are a few small nicks in the center of the reverse. Sharply struck EDS. The repunching right of the base of the second 1 is clear. Our grade is AU50+. PCGS #1224. Pop 130; 75 graded higher at PCGS for MSBN. Estimated Value $175 - UP
Ex Douglas F. Bird-Bob Willoughby Collection.
