Lot 321

1839 N-14 R3 Booby Head PCGS graded AU55. Frosty chocolate brown and medium olive, the reverse a couple shades lighter than the obverse. Fine flowline luster covers the protected areas on both sides and this cent has very nice eye appeal. No roughness or verdigris, only a few trivial marks. These include a couple faint nicks on the throat and a half dozen tiny rim nicks on the reverse, the strongest of these at AT in STATES. MDS. The fields are flowlined and the reverse is cracked, but the short bar from the dentils over the R in AMERICA is still visible. Our grade is EF40+, close to EF45. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 7 finer: 2 in 62, 2 in 63, 1 in 64, 1 in 66, 1 in 66+. PCGS #37255. Estimated Value $275 - UP
