Lot 319

1839 N-12 R4+ Booby Head PCGS graded VF30. Glossy golden brown and light olive blending to darker olive brown in protected areas. The surfaces are smooth and the only notable mark is a minor planchet lamination from the bottom of the E in CENT to the bottom of the C in AMERICA (as struck). MDS with a die crack from the dentils through star 4 to the nose and into the cheek under the eye where it fades away. A nice example of this very scarce die variety. Graded VF25 by Del Bland. Our grade is VF20+. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 5 finer: 2 in 40, 1 in 58, 2 in 64. PCGS #37249. Estimated Value $450 - UP
