Lot 316

1839 N-8 R1 Head of 1840 NGC graded MS61 Brown. Attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Mint frost covers the fields and protected areas and this cent has very nice eye appeal. There is a touch of friction on the highest points of the devices and a few trivial contact marks, none significant. A tiny diagonal nick in the center of the eyebrow can help identify this cent. Nicely struck EDS. The dentils are well-defined around both sides and a fine vertical die line extends down from the lower berry left of the O in ONE. Our grade is AU50+. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. Estimated Value $500 - UP
Ex Chris McCawley 12/18/2012-Chuck Hall Collection.
