Lot 314

1839 N-7 R2 Booby Head AU58+. Very attractive frosty tan and very light olive. Nearly flawless with great eye appeal. The only marks are two small spot of darker olive brown toning (not carbon) between stars 9 & 10. The rims are a bit uneven (as struck) and some of the dentils on the obverse are flat, but the central devices are sharp. A very attractive cent, so close to MS60. MDS. The fine die cracks at stars 2-7 are clear but there are no die clashmarks on the reverse. Removed from an NGC slab graded MS64BN (NGC label #314015-013 included). Pop 4; 3 graded higher at NGC for the variety, 2 in 64, 1 in 65. Estimated Value $1,100 - UP
