Lot 313

1839 N-6 R2 Booby Head AU50. Choice glossy medium brown. Satiny mint frost covers the fields and protected areas and this cent is nearly flawless except for a small chip out of the rim at star 5 and a planchet lamination at NE in ONE that meanders to the first A in AMERICA (as struck). EDS with smooth, hard fields that show some fine die finishing lines on both sides. Just too bad about the small lamination; otherwise this cent has mint state eye appeal. But it comes with a nice provenance. Our grade is net AU50. PCGS would not grade this cent because of the planchet lamination. Estimated Value $350 - UP
