Lot 250

1835 N-9 R4 Large 8 & Stars PCGS graded AU55. Choice glossy medium brown blending to olive in protected areas. The surfaces are smooth and this cent has great eye appeal, especially for this tough die variety. The only defects are a few minor nicks including a diagonal one in the field right of star 4 and a few more light nicks inside the wreath. E-MDS with a die crack from the dentils over the right edge of the M through the tops of ERIC and faintly to the dentils right of that C. The reverse is rotated 25 degrees CW. Graded VF35 and tied for CC#5 in the Noyes census, his photo #25637. Our grade is VF35 Choice. A wonderful cent that comes with a very nice provenance. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 2 finer: 1 in 58, 1 in 63. PCGS #37108. Estimated Value $4,500 - UP
