Lot 240

1835 N-1 R1 Large 8 & Stars PCGS graded AU53. Glossy medium olive brown and steel. Satiny mint frost covers the protected areas on both sides and this cent has excellent eye appeal. The surfaces are smooth and the only notable mark is a tiny planchet lamination off the end of the wreath stem (as struck). MDS with the usual die cracks on the obverse, but the additional radial crack from the dentils over star 12 has not formed. A nice example of the Large 8 & Stars variety. Our grade is EF45+. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 8 finer: 1 in 55, 1 in 58, 4 in 63, 1 in 64, 1 in 65. PCGS #37105. Estimated Value $500 - UP
Ex Thomas D. Reynolds 9/10/2015-Chuck Hall Collection.
