Lot 228

1833 N-1 R2 PCGS graded MS62 Brown. Lustrous chocolate brown and olive delicately woodgrained with some slightly lighter brown toning on the obverse. Underlying very faded mint color shows in the fields and protected areas on the reverse. No defects, just a faint hint of rub on the highest points of the devices. This cent offers choice mint state eye appeal in spite of the touch of friction. M-LDS. The lump between the tops of the T & A in STATES is weak and the reverse is rotated 20 degrees clockwise relative to the normal head-to-foot die orientation. Graded MS60 net AU55 and tied for CC#5 in the Noyes census, his photo #34014. Our grade is AU58. The attribution and Tucker provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS #37018. Pop 2; 3 graded finer at PCGS for the variety, 2 in 63 BN, 1 in 65 RB. Estimated Value $1,000 - UP
