Lot 10

1794 S-24 R1 PCGS graded XF45, CAC Approved. The "Apple Cheek" variety, so called because of the puffed out cheek on Ms. Liberty. Very attractive glossy medium brown. The surfaces are smooth and this cent has great eye appeal. No spots or stains, only minor contact marks. The notable marks are a small tick on the truncation over the 4 and a very light rim bruise at TE in STATES. In addition there is a curved struck-through line (caused by a piece of wire or thread on the die) that arcs from the dentils at RT through the hair to the bottom of the cap (as struck), but this line does not catch your eye. MDS, Breen state IV, with light die cracks on the obverse and minor swelling in the middle of the reverse, but before any die rust. Graded VF25 net F15 and tied for CC#34 in the Noyes census, his photo #25818. Our grade is VF25. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 11 finer. PCGS #35537. Estimated Value $4,000 - UP
