Lot 701

1856-O. PCGS graded AU-53. Some luster still evident in the protected areas. The strike is sharp on all but the lower left side of the obverse, with the stars lacking their radial lines and the dentils soft in the area, but sharp elsewhere as if the obverse die was slightly misaligned with the reverse (commonly seen on this issue). Nice surfaces and classic orange-gold color throughout. Only 10,000 struck, of which CoinFacts notes that approximately 85 exist today, making this a very rare coin in any grade. Here is one that is quite nice and attractive. Pop 9; 18 finer at PCGS. (PCGS # 8269) Estimated Value $4,500 - 5,000

Realized $5,040
