Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 116

Lot 674

1832. BD-1, Rarity 4. NGC graded MS-62. A truly rare coin in any grade, this is one of the few dozen or Mint State pieces known of this date. During the era that these were struck, their value in bullion exceeded their face value, hence most were melted and lost. Only a tiny percentage of the original issue survives from these pre-1834 gold pieces. The present coin is well struck and nice with attractive surfaces and strong eye appeal. These early gold coins remain one of the most sought-after series due to their rarity. Only 4,400 struck. Pop 4; 7 finer, 1 in 62+, 5 in 63, 1 in 64. (PCGS # 7672) Estimated Value $19,000 - 20,000

Realized $24,000
