Lot 202

1814. Large date. JR-4, Rarity 2. PCGS graded MS-65. Dusky gold and gray toning throughout, with deeper russet around the rims. This is a later die state with multiple thin die cracks on the reverse, two from the rim to the eagle's head, others in the shield lines. Lightly toned at the centers and quite attractive. The strike is reasonably sharp on most of Liberty's curls and the eagle's feathers with a touch of softness on the uppermost rounded curls. An important coin in this lofty grade, and worthy of any advanced set. Pop 7; 6 finer, 1 in 65+, 5 in 66. (PCGS # 4488) Estimated Value $9,000 - 10,000
