Lot 922

1854 N-3 R1 PCGS graded MS65+ Brown, CAC Approved. Lustrous light steel brown and olive with mellowed mint red in the protected areas on the obverse. The only notable mark is a shallow planchet flake on the rim at star 3 (as struck). EDS, die state a, with a fine diagonal line through star 6 to the top of the head. The stray 4 nestled into the curl over the 85 is sharp. Our grade is MS60+. The attribution and Matthews Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 1 finer in 66. Value $375 - UP
