1851 N-7 R1 PCGS graded MS63 Red & Brown. Lustrous medium steel brown and light olive with mellowed mint red covering at least 20% of the obverse. Traces of faded mint color show on the reverse. There are small spots of darker toning (not carbon) scattered over both sides including one at the dentils left of star 1; otherwise this cent is choice. MDS, die state a. The die lines at the inner curl are dull but visible and the fields show radial die flowlines. Our grade is MS60+. The attribution and Matthews Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 1 finer in 64. Value $300 - UP
