Lot 840

1849 N-26 R3 PCGS graded MS62 Brown. Very attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Mint frost covers the fields and protected areas and this cent has excellent eye appeal. Just a few minor marks including some thin horizontal nicks left of the ear and darker olive brown toning around stars 8-10. MDS, die state b. The earlier die lines at the dentils near stars 3-4 are gone. Our grade is AU50, CC#7 for the variety in the Grellman census. Noyes photo #30338. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and Matthews Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 1 finer in 63. Value $350 - UP
