1848 N-5 R4+ Second 8 Repunched PCGS graded AU58+, CAC Approved. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with generous traces of faded mint red in protected areas on both sides. Looks mint state but there is a hint of rub on the highest points of the portrait. The only marks are a pair of thin, very light nicks on the throat and a puff of darker steel toning at TA in STATES. MDS, die state d, with die cracks on the reverse. The repunching right of the second 8 is clear. Our grade is AU58, tied for CC#8 in the Grellman census.
