1846 N-14 R3 Tall Date with Repunched 1 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Frosty light olive and steel brown with golden tan in protected areas. Sharply struck and very attractive, essentially flawless. The best identifying mark, and it is barely visible under strong magnification, is a fine hairline between the T & A in STATES. E-MDS, die state a, before any die cracks or cuds. The repunching at the base of the 1 is clear and the dash to the left from the top of the 8 is sharp. Our grade is MS60, tied for CC#4 in the Grellman census. The attribution and Matthews Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 2 finer: 1 in 64+, 1 in 65. Value $500 - UP
