1844/81 N-2 R2 Overdate 44 over 81 NGC graded AU50. Frosty steel brown with lighter golden tan in protected areas. Smooth and attractive, just lightly worn with minor contact marks. A thin diagonal nick under the chin and a vertical nick at the top of the ear are the notable marks. E-MDS, die state a late. The 44 over 81 feature is strong (actually the entire date was punched inverted into the die, then corrected). A decent example of this popular "Redbook" variety. Our grade is VF35.
