1841 N-1 R5 PCGS Proof, Unc Detail Edge Repaired. Gunmetal blue and lighter brown, possibly retoned after a light cleaning long ago. Sharply struck but the reflectivity is subdued and the planchet is covered with a microscopic layer of oxidation. No carbon spots or notable stains, but there is a nick or nick-like planchet void in the field over star 1 and a couple extremely light rim bruises on both sides. Not perfect but it looks better than it may sound. Our grade is Proof-50+. The attribution and Matthews Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Value $1,750 - UP
