Lot 639

1794 S-32 R2 PCGS graded XF45, CAC Approved. Frosty chocolate and darker steel brown with traces of lighter brown and tan in protected areas. No roughness or notable contact marks, but there is some dirt nestled into protected areas on the reverse, especially at ES in STATES and around the N in UNITED. The best identifying mark is a tiny spot of planchet impurity off the leaf tip left of the first A in AMERICA (as struck). E-MDS, Breen state II, with a fine die crack through the first S in STATES and strong die clashmarks on the reverse, but before the cud break at LI in LIBERTY. Softly struck along the dentils before the portrait, as always on this die combination (due to non-parallel die faces). Our grade is VF30. Value $5,000 - UP
