1844 Second Restrike Breen 1-C R6 PCGS graded Proof-64 Brown. Reverse of 1840. Medium chestnut and steel brown with small puffs of lighter toning scattered over the obverse. A small splash of lighter toning shows at the ear lobe and a small spot of tan toning is nestled between the left points of star 12. There is a tiny rim bruise below the 1 in the date and a scuff on the rim over MER. Very well struck with razor-sharp details in the devices. Our grade is Proof-60. PCGS population 1; 3 finer: 2 in 66, 1 in 66+. Value $7,000 - UP
