1840 Second Restrike Breen 1-C R6+ PCGS graded Proof-66 Brown. Reverse of 1840. Choice medium chocolate brown with lighter steel brown toning on the devices giving this piece a cameo look. No carbon spots and the only notable mark is a tiny planchet flake off the lower left point of star 7 (as struck). Fine diagonal die polishing lines cover the fields on the reverse. A sharp, very attractive proof half cent. Our grade is Proof-65. PCGS population 2; 1 finer in 66+. Value $15,000 - UP
