1844 N-1 R1. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. CAC. Frosty light olive and bluish steel brown with 5% of the obverse and 10% of the reverse showing mint red. The surfaces are satiny and the only marks are a pair of microscopic ticks on the chin and a thin diagonal nick or planchet void under the ear. Scarce LDS, die state e, with all the die cracks described by Grellman and a small lump close under the right point of star 4. The rim cud break under star 13 is visible. Our grade is MS62, tied for CC#6 of the variety in the Grellman census. The attribution and Widok Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; none finer.
