Lot 577

1835 N-11 R4+. PCGS graded AU-58. CAC. Attractive glossy light to medium brown blending to light olive in protected areas. The only notable defects are a few small areas of minor roughness at the top of the obverse, strongest at the bottom of star 9. E-MDS. The die crack on the reverse is strong but the radial extension up from the right top of the U in UNITED to the dentils has not formed. The fields are slightly reflective. Graded EF45 sharpness net EF40 and tied for CC#5 in the Noyes census, his photo #61546. Our grade is VF35+, close to EF40. A very nice example of this tough die variety. The attribution and Widok Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 1 finer in 62. (PCGS # 37093) Value $3,000 - UP
