Lot 516

1835 C-2 R1 MS62. Very attractive tan and light brown blending to steel brown on the highpoints. Faint hints of bluish steel and rose overtones are visible on both sides. The only notable mark is a swipe of darker toning below the wreath ribbon, and there is a trace of microscopic roughness within this darker area. Very early die state, Manley 1.0 early. The fields are reflective and all the stars have complete, sharp radial lines. A beautiful prooflike half cent; choice if not for the swipe of darker toning (PCGS # 35291) Value $1,000 - UP
Ex Steve Fischer 11/28/1995-The Widok Collection.
