Lot 432

1795 C-6a R2 No Pole, Thin Planchet. PCGS graded EF-45. Choice glossy medium chocolate brown and olive with traces of frosty golden tan faded down from mint color in protected areas. A beautiful half cent, nearly flawless. The only marks are some microscopic planchet chips in the field off the neck and bust and a tiny planchet chip near the dentils well right of the fraction, all as struck. In addition there is a tiny planchet clip over the Y in LIBERTY and the opposing rim right of the fraction, but this clip is so small it easily could be missed. MDS, Manley state 2.0, with a very subtle bulge in the field near the dentils right of Y in LIBERTY. A beautiful, absolutely choice half cent. Our grade is VF35+, very close to EF40. Weight 85.2 grains. The attribution and Widok Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; 8 finer. (PCGS # 35089) Value $4,000 - UP
