1795 C-5b R4 No Pole, Thick Planchet VG8+. Very attractive glossy medium brown blending to chocolate brown in protected areas. The surfaces are smooth and the eye appeal is outstanding for the grade. The only marks are a small rim bruise left of the bottom of the cap and another over IB in LIBERTY. Otherwise this piece is absolutely choice and would qualify for a slightly higher grade. LDS with a strong bisecting die crack on the reverse. The date is weak, as always on these thick planchet strikes. Struck 5-10% off center to K-9. Weight 115.4 grains, well above the 84.0-grain standard for the normal thin planchet variety. Value $800 - UP
