1794 C-3a R5 Small Edge Letters VF20. Ten points sharper but recolored glossy dark olive brown and steel with frosty lighter brown toning in protected areas. The surfaces are smooth and the only marks are some rim bruises on both sides, the most notable of these left of the lower curls, plus a dull scratch under RI in AMERICA. Nicely struck with a bold date and strong legends. M-LDS, Manley state 2.0, with a bulge in the field right of the date (a die state called "very rare" by Manley). The die clashmarks on the obverse are strong. Value $4,000 - UP
