1794 C-3a R5 Small Edge Letters. PCGS graded AU-50. Choice glossy medium brown. The planchet is smooth and this half cent is beautiful except for the left side of the obverse where there are numerous tiny planchet fissures, as struck. Otherwise this cent would rate a higher grade. The reverse is choice. The only contact mark is a very tiny rim bruise left of the fraction, and there is an incipient planchet clip that affects the dentils over BER in LIBERTY (as struck, of course). Very rare LDS, Manley state 2.0, with an obvious bulge in the field right of the date. Our grade is VF30. Among the finest known of this rare die variety.
