Lot 258

1845 N-7 R5. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. CAC. Lustrous medium brown blending to light chocolate on the highpoints. Tiny peeps of faded mint red are still visible in a few of the protected places on both sides. No notable marks, nearly flawless. Sharply struck EDS, die state a, before the reverse die cracked at ME. The eye appeal of this cent is outstanding. Our grade is MS60+, finest known in the Grellman census. (Note: This cent previously was graded AU58+ in the Grellman census when it was housed in an NGC slab. After cracking and brushing the true beauty of this cent became apparent; hence the revised grade.) The attribution and Great Pacific Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; none finer. (PCGS # 397758) Value $2,750 - UP
