1835 N-16 R2 Head of 1836. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. Very attractive frosty light bluish steel and olive with traces of mellowed mint red in protected areas on both sides. The surfaces are lustrous and nearly flawless, and this cent has outstanding eye appeal. The best identifying marks are two tiny specks of lighter golden toning near the hair under stars 6 & 7. E-MDS with microscopic radial die flowlines in the fields. In addition there is a strong double profile from the forelock down to the chin with additional doubling on many of the stars. Graded MS63 and tied for CC#1 honors in the Noyes census, his photo #28699. Bland says MS60+ and tied for CC#1. Our grade is MS63. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and Great Pacific Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; 1 finer in 65. (PCGS # 37069) Value $2,000 - UP
