Lot 239

1833 N-6 R1. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. Frosty mint red fading to light olive brown on the devices with at least 25% of the planchet showing mint color, mostly on the reverse. No spots or stains, and the only notable mark is a mint-made incuse impression of a few dentils between stars 9 & 10. It appears this planchet may have been struck way off center leaving an arc of dentils in that area, then restruck properly. In addition there is a strong double profile from the forelock down to the chin with additional doubling on the neck and stars 6-11. MDS with fine flowlines in the fields and die cracks on the reverse. Graded MS61 and CC#7 in the Noyes census, his photo #58478. Our grade is MS63. (Previously housed in a PCGS holder graded MS64RB with CAC Approval; still looks RB to your cataloger.) The attribution and Great Pacific Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 3 finer: 2 in 65, 1 in 66. (PCGS # 37033) Value $2,500 - UP
