1827 N-4 R2. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. CAC. Highly lustrous light brown and tan with delicate overtones of light bluish steel. Faded mint color covers the protected areas on the reverse. The fields are satiny and the eye appeal of this cent is wonderful. The notable marks are a closely spaced pair of extremely faint hairlines slanting across the cheek to the neck just below the earlobe and a few tiny wisps of darker steel toning on both sides. Late die state with dentil crumbling at the bottom of the reverse from CA clockwise to under the end of the ribbon. Sharply struck with full radial lines in all the stars. Called MS63 and CC#2 in the Noyes census, his photo #20619. Bland says MS63 and tied for CC#1. Our grade is MS63. Previously housed in a PCGS slab graded MS65BN when sold in the Naftzger sale.
