1853-D. NGC graded MS-61. A lovely untoned example. Better than average strike with sharp device details on Liberty's hair and the eagle's wings. The color is uniform bright gold. A few thin die cracks are seen in the stars and handling marks are at a minimum. Scarce in any mint state grade, and rarely found this nice. Only 89,678 struck. Pop 21; 16 finer at NGC. Value $5,000 - 5,500
