Lot 1573

1804. Small 8. PCGS graded MS-62. A bright and flashy Capped Bust half eagle that shows a nice solid strike on all the devices along with bright yellow gold color. The elegance of these designs is well known, Liberty facing right with her tall cap upon her head, and the loose drapery gown she wears. The reverse shows the heraldic eagle with his wings outstretched, clutching arrows in his right claw and an olive branch in his left claw. Stars and clouds above the eagle, with the proud legend surrounding of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. These half eagles show no stated denomination, so if a person was not familar with them and their denomination or value, they would be weighted on a scale and determined what value they were for a given transaction. This is a particularly nice coin, and would serve well to represent this type issue. Only 30,475 struck. Pop 21; 25 finer at PCGS. (PCGS # 8085) Value $13,000 - 14,000

Realized $16,200
