Lot 1212

1876-S. PCGS graded MS-64. PQ. Lovely rainbow toning on both sides of the most extraordinary colors with a perfect bullseye pattern, headlight white centers, crimson and gold sunset next, deeper blue, green and finishing out with lemon gold around the rims--incredibly so on both sides. It would be hard to imagine a more attractive toned Trade dollar than this coin, destined to be a major conversation piece wherever it is shown. A simply stunning piece and a great looking coin. We anticipate this coin bring a modest premium over bid (sarcasm). In my 40 years of cataloging rare coins, this might well be the most beautiful toned coin that has passed through my hands. Recently graded for the first time and should be re-graded.Pop 117; 18 finer, 9 in 64+, 8 in 65, 1 in 66. (PCGS # 7043) Value $1,700 - 1,800
