Lot 1061

1880. NGC graded MS-67. Star. Fully white with mirror fields on both sides and just a blush of pale gold around the rims. The centers are fully white and well forsted. A low mintage issue due ot the fact that most of the coins hoarded during the Civil War came flooding back into circulation in 1879 when the premium for gold over paper dollars finally reverted and could be exchanged at equal value, hence demand for new coins fell dramatically. Low mintage date of 36,000 struck. Pop 1; 5 finer, 2 in 68, 3 in 68 Star. Value $1,500 - 1,600

Realized $1,710
