Lot 1029

1918-D, 8 over 7. NGC graded EF-45. Popular key date nickel. Mostly untoned with steel gray and faint golden gray hues dominating the surfaces. These are a few scattered light nicks when closely examined, as expected for a coin at this grade level. The overdate feature is sharp, with the underlying 7 unable to hide beneath the 8. Nice full horn on the bison, although the strike is typical for this issue with moderate softness present. Still and all, a desirable example of this tough overdate issue, and one that is seldom seen this well preserved. Value $6,500 - 7,000

Unsold
