Apollo 15: Controversial Dave Scott/KSC Cover, Original Apollo 15 Press Kit, VIP Launch Badge, Recovery Crew Signed Cover and More. Interesting collection, all related to Apollo 15. 1.) Scarce and controversial Dave Scott cover that is printed in top left corner "This Envelope Was Flown To the Moon Aboard Apollo 15" and canceled July 26, 1971 Kennedy Space Center, day of launch. However this cover is one of the remainders of the initial order and did not fly to the moon. The entire "scandal" of all three astronauts taking more covers than allowed put a blemish on their otherwise phenomenal mission. 2.) Original NASA Apollo 15 Press Kit with Boeing Land Rover brochure. 3.) VIP launch badge 4.) First Day Issue of Herrick Apollo 15 "Phases of the Moon" large sticker/cachet. 5.) 10mm platinum commemorative coin from Franklin Mint 6.) Splashdown commemorative cover signed by Recovery Crew. Estimated Value $250 - UP
From The Celebrated Collection of Alden T. Barnes.
