Gemini VIII - Aft Heat Shield Presentation Disk. Gemini VIII was the sixth crewed spaceflight in NASA's Gemini program, launched March 16, 1966. It was the twelfth crewed American flight and the twenty-second crewed spaceflight of all time. It was on this trip that NASA astronauts Neil Armstrong and David Scott performed the first space docking. Fragment encased in a 3 x 2½" clear acrylic presentation disk.
