Legends of Early Aviation: Amelia Earhart, Orville Wright and G.H. Curtiss. Three original signatures on hand painted covers by a storied autograph collector and superb illustrator. 1.) Orville Wright has signed a wonderful watercolor of the Wright Brothers plane at Kitty Hawk in 1930. 2.) Legendary pilot, Amelia Earhart has signed a hand painted tribute to her historic feat of being the first woman to cross the Atlantic in 1932, with large postal stamp celebrating a Mass Maneuver and Aerial Review, July 28, 1932 in San Diego, welcoming Amelia Earhart. 3.) Signature of G. H. Curtiss of Curtiss Airplanes fame who died while illustrated cover was in transit. Enclosed in cover is a kind letter dated August 16th, 1930 by his secretary who clipped a signature of Curtiss' off of a filed letter, letter enclosed.
Amelia Earhart went missing in July of 1937 from Papua, New Guinea to Howland Island with a recent expedition attempted to locate her, crew member Fred Noonan and the Lockheed Electra 10E by Robert Ballard (Titanic explorer) near Nikumaroro failed to find anything. All three signatures are excellent, the cover beautifully painted, excellent condition and would present well framed. Collection also includes 12 different covers signed by Ann Pellegreno and her book who flew Earhart's route on the 30th Anniversary of her flight. Estimated Value $600 - UP
