Russian Lacquer Box: Czar Nicholas II of Russia,The Last Emperor, Portrait Box (1868-1918) Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia along with his family the subject of more conspiracies, books and films than any other ruler of Russia. Though he had been deposed, his crown and his name stolen from him, his family imprisoned, months later, they were all assassinated. Czar Nicholas is frequently the subject of Russian lacquer boxes, and this Russian decoupage of his most famous portrait has been beautifully enhanced with intricate hand painted gold all throughout the uniform; the gold bullion, the medals, the buttons, the saber and the exquisitely delicate border along the edge of the lid. 1¼ x 4 x 3" and in mint condition.
