Frederick Ellis Timm & Co. of Sheffield, Historic Victorian Table Plateau and James Deakin & Sons Hot Water Server. From one of the leaders of high end silver plate creations during Victorian England, Frederick Ellis Timm & Co. of Sheffied, England, a magnificent table plateau or tray. This was a presentation to a retiring board member of the Scottish Mineral Association in 1882, a significant association during the Industrial Revolution that championed the development of oil-works in Scotland from their oil shales through science and research to manufacture kerosene, lamp oil, lubricating oil, and paraffin wax and greatly lifting the economy of Glasgow and Scotland as a whole. The inscription while in the center of the tray is surrounded buy such magnificent rectangles of scroll work it appears to be part of the design. In outstanding condition with only very light surface scratches. The silver plate has remained consistent and gleaming. 2½ x 26 x 16½". The silversmith FET & Co. operated from 1864-1886 and then merged with another company.
From JP & Co. of Sheffield silverplate hot water server in beautiful condition with ornate scroll work and handles, in excellent condition. Estimated Value $800 - UP
